Becoming one in Christ

40 Days of Prayer

Day 12

Have Equal Concern for Each Other

Rick Schulze, Pastor, Graceway Fellowship, Green Bay WI

Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-27

". . . so that there would be no division in the body, but that the members would have the same concern for each other."

1 Corinthians 12:25 (CSB)

Within each congregation there are many members, each one given different gifts and purposes to use for the good of the body. God orchestrates that we come together, to serve with one another, to fulfill God's building of the Body of Christ. This is truly a marvel to consider that we can all be members of this.

When we consider how God knits us together, our differences are not so much the issue as what joins us together. We have Jesus as the head (Ephesians 5:23; Colossians 1:18, 2:19). He holds the body together. We are united with one another by our connection with Jesus, not by our affiliation with a congregation, association or state convention.

Divisions and separation are not from the Lord, but from the enemy seeking to break the bonds of fellowship we have in Jesus as His body. When we have concern for one another we show the strength that is in the body.

PRAYER: Father, may your kingdom come and will be done through your people this day. I ask that you bless my brothers and sisters in Christ with strength and courage as they face innumerable challenges. Please help us to care for others, to be concerned for one another, knowing that as each one of us is built up, the Body of Christ will be strengthened. May we grow together, building Your Kingdom, for Your glory and honor!
