Becoming one in Christ

40 Days of Prayer

Day 13

Prayer for Persepective

Trey Turner, Pastor, Church at Wazeecha, WI Rapids, WI

"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." Galatians 5:13 (ESV)

When I was in second grade, I had a teacher who saw how I struggled to read the blackboard. That week I went to the eye doctor and came back with shiny new glasses. My mother recalled how amazed I was when I said, "The trees have leaves on them." I was not aware I needed an eye adjustment.

When Christians look like the rest of the world in our ambition for power and our perspective about people exalting ourselves or negating them, we may not realize we need a new vantage point. We often do not need a higher view of ourselves. But we need a new perspective. the new perspective will help us to see clearly. We want to be great from our Lord's perspective.

Servants see a person the way the Father wants us to see them. Servants look in the mirror with a different vantage point than they would otherwise have. That is a perspective that will make all the difference.

PRAYER: Lord, remind us how to serve so the world doesn't get us confused with the abusive dictating personalities that cause so much damage. Help us to see the wounded and serve people in a way that shows we have a better perspective.
