Read Philippians 2:1-10

"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves." Philippians 2:3 (ESV)

One of the observations I have made in my own walk with the Lord, as well as that of others, is that we do not trust God as much as we think nor as much as we should. Perhaps nothing shows lack of trust in God more than self-promotion. 

​

Humility requires trust in God. Jesus gave us the supreme example of this kind of trust. this trust led Him to the cross as He thought more of us in our lost condition rather than of His position. Yet the cross was not the end of the story. The end of the story is that God has highly exalted Him and given Him that name that is above all names.

Does your trust in God produce the humility that completely places your reputation in His hands? Can you rejoice when God exalts a brother or sister in Christ? Is your first t hought how something will benefit others rather than yourself? Are you ready to find fulfillment in serving God and others?

PRAYER: Father, thank you for the example we have of humility in our Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to trust you to place me where you want me to be in the body of Christ. Let my service to you flow from humility that reflects a deep trust in your faithfulness.
